About WeatherPets
Two people, several pets, and one strong opinion: checking the weather should make you smile.
Our story
WeatherPets started with a simple observation: the weather is the one app everyone opens every day, and it's also one of the most boring. We're Dom and Adam, the two-person team behind WeatherPets at Relative Industries, LLC. We build the app, write the blog, answer the support emails, and test every feature on our own dogs and cats first.
WeatherPets turns your real pet into your personal weather reporter. Upload a photo, tell us a little about their personality, and your dog or cat stars in AI-generated scenes that match the actual forecast — sunny, rainy, snowy, or anything in between — backed by accurate Apple WeatherKit data, severe-weather alerts, and home screen widgets.
Who writes this site
Dom (dom@relative.dev) is a co-founder of WeatherPets. He writes our app guides, comparisons, and feature deep-dives — if a post explains how WeatherPets works or stacks it against another weather app, it's usually his.
Adam (adam@relative.dev) is a co-founder of WeatherPets. He writes most of our pet care and weather-safety guides — walking temperatures, heat and cold safety, breed-specific care, and seasonal gear.
Our editorial standards
Pet safety content deserves rigor. Every health or safety guide we publish follows the same rules:
- We cite primary veterinary sources. Our guides link to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the ASPCA, Cornell's veterinary colleges, VCA Animal Hospitals, and the National Weather Service — not other blogs.
- We are not veterinarians, and we say so. Our articles help you spot risks and plan around the weather; for a diagnosis, always call your vet.
- Gear reviews disclose affiliate links. Some product roundups earn us a small commission as an Amazon Associate, at no cost to you. That never changes a ranking.
- We update, honestly. When we materially revise an article, we update its modified date. We don't fake freshness.
